8 Step Soothing and Pampering Spa Routine

Uncategorized

This week I am bringing you an 8 step soothing and pampering spa routine which I hope will leave you feeling relaxed and de-stressed at this worrying time.

Spa Routine

Step 1. Start by washing your hair with Clarifying Hair Wash, using a Scalp Massager to gently stimulate the hair and encourage healthy growth.

Step 2. Rinse hair and apply a deep conditioning treatment. This one contains plant proteins to repair and strengthen the hair and keratin for glossy, healthy looking hair.

Step 3. Gently massage in Body Smooth polish to exfoliate and nourish with oils and mineral rich sea salts. Its gorgeous citrus scent comes from lemon myrtle which deeply cleanses and purifies the skin and macadamia nut oil helps improve elasticity.

Step 4. Buff your feet with Polishing Foot Pebble to remove dry skin and soften cracked heels.

Step 5. Rinse off body polish and foot pebble while running a bath and adding Tahitian Vanilla and Coconut Luxury Bath Foam. Aloe Vera helps to soothe...

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - Easy But Stylish Stay At Home Outfits

This post contains affiliate links - I earn a small commission should you use these links to buy any of the items.

It looks like most of us will be spending a long period of time at home this Spring. With this in mind I have put together my Spring Capsule Wardrobe predominantly from pieces I already have in my wardrobe. There are a few new additions, but in reality as I won't be going anywhere I really didn't need much. I have included accessories for when I do pop out for groceries as I still want to make some effort, if only to keep my spirits up.

For this capsule I have kept the colour scheme really simple with Navy, Cream/Ivory and Red. I am sure that you will have some similar pieces in your wardrobe and hope that you will find this useful in creating your own outfits.

I have listed either the exact pieces I have if still available, or similar alternatives if you do want to add anything to your wardrobe.

17 Items, 3 sets of accessories and well over 40 outfits...

How To Shop Your Wardrobe

Uncategorized

If you are stuck at home and needing some distraction a good sort through your wardrobe might be just the solution to fill a few hours.

I would recommend that you do this regularly anyway to make sure you haven't forgotten about any hidden treasures. Clear out what you don't wear regularly to make sure your wardrobe isn't cluttered and that you can see everything. Sell good quality items so that you can use the money to reinvest in your wardrobe.

Use this time to “go shopping” in the warm and dry in your wardrobe. Rather than this being a clear out, it’s an opportunity to try different item combinations, work out which key items you need and come up with some new outfits.

Have handy a notebook, some pins and a full length mirror. Use a camera too, I keep a folder on my phone with outfit ideas that I can easily refer back to.

Pick out some items you love but don’t seem to wear very often and try to figure out why. Is it because of the fit?...

Stop Waiting Until, To Be Stylish In Your Fifties & Beyond

How do you feel when you open your wardrobe doors? Is it a case of "Ooh which of my lovely pieces shall I create an outfit with today?" or is it more "Ugh what on earth can I wear?" If it's more often the latter than the former you may be suffering from "waiting until". I completely understand because it is something many of us have experienced.

It might be that you are waiting until you have lost weight. Or maybe it's until you have time to sort your wardrobe out. Or perhaps until you have more money, or more confidence to try something new.

But all that time you are waiting, you are missing out. How do you feel at the moment? If you are suffering from a lack of confidence because you think your appearance is letting you down, then now is the time to act. I talk about this in much more depth here. But in the meantime let's get rid of some of those excuses.

If you are waiting until you lose weight, you will find this post useful. My biggest tip though, is not to have anything in...

How To Update Your Colour Palette

If you have had colour analysis in the past there is a good chance that you may only wear a percentage of the colours in your palette. We all get stuck in a rut and stick to what is safe and what we know works. Depending on when you were colour analysed, you may also be sticking to some rigid rules that are limiting your choices. If you were analysed as one of the 4 Seasons and have never deviated, you are definitely missing out. Since then colour analysis has moved on considerably, I have even developed my own method that I use with my clients.

If you have started to see some "natural highlights" creeping in or perhaps as you have got older your skin tone has changed, you may want to rethink the colours you wear as well. Or maybe you fancy a change or feel that your colour palette doesn't reflect who you are. I definitely go through phases where I want to wear a luxurious palette of neutrals and other days when I really want some gorgeous pops of colour.

Stop Buying In To Capsule Wardrobe Must Haves Lists!

We all have those days when we feel nothing in our wardrobe works. Or perhaps it's an invitation to an event that sends you in to panic because you don't think you have anything to wear. But if you have some failsafe items in your wardrobe that are in tune with your personal style, you will always have something to wear.

There is nothing worse than attending an event or important meeting and feeling like you aren't dressed appropriately. Equally if you rush out and buy something at short notice it's likely that it might not really be "you" and you will feel uncomfortable all day.

So what is the key to getting this right and discovering what those failsafe pieces and outfits are?

You are likely to have seen the lists of capsule wardrobe "must haves". They often include a white shirt, black trousers, blazer and Trench coat. But I am going to be a little controversial here because I don't agree with those lists :) For starters a white shirt (especially if it is a...

Updating Your Personal Style Over 50

A new year is often the time we think about making a fresh start. But you may also be entering a new season of your life. If you are turning 50, or have already, there are some enforced changes (and this is relevant to you if you have gone through those in your forties too) that the menopause brings on. Most of them are not changes we welcome, for instance a changing body shape, greying hair, problematic skin and your own internal furnace. Many of us have a dip in our confidence too, because we just don't feel like ourselves any more. We may look in the mirror and wonder who that is or perhaps even see our mother!

When I turned 50, I actually felt pretty good. I had lost weight, got my hair just how I wanted it and I wondered what all the fuss was about. However, by the time I reached 52 everything had changed. The weight had gone back on, my hourglass shape had got rounder and I was battling keeping the grey at bay. (By the way, I have nothing against grey hair because I think it...

Ditch The Diet & The Guilt - New Year, New You

This year I am resolving NOT to start a diet in January. Because as we all probably know deep down, diets don't work. If they did it wouldn't be such a huge money making industry! I read a great post from a brilliant nutritionist, @Rhitrition, I follow on Instagram that makes so much sense.

She said...

"Your weight can be affected by a million different things. Depending on what you ate, how much water you drank, whether you ate lots of salty foods and what time of day you weighed yourself, your weight can vary 2kg a day. If you’re more stressed than usual your body may produce more cortisol (stress hormone) which leads to inflammation = weight gain.

Of course we need to enjoy things in moderation but enjoy these days by stepping off the scales. While weight offers some useful measure, weighing too often can cause anxiety, distress and can even dictate your mood for the day. At worst it can even cause a spiral of deprivation, binge eating and low self-esteem.

Remember, how much...
