Weekly Capsule Wardrobe - May 23

For those who struggle with putting together smart casual outfits with versatile wardrobe pieces that can be dressed up or down, this is for you.

I've put together a collection of items to create a mini capsule wardrobe and styled 7 outfits.

There are lots more outfit options from these pieces and you can substitute similar items that you have already, but here are my suggestions for a week of outfits:

Starting the week with a casual two piece of linen trousers and shirt, both summer wardrobe essentials perfect at home and on holiday. The shirt doubles as a jacket if left open and worn over a simple vest top, as well as a beach cover up. Dress the trousers up with a smarter top or again wear on holiday with a simple vest top and flip flops for the beach.

This seasons most popular skirts are either denim or a cargo style like this one. It's versatile...

Mini Spring Capsule Wardrobe

If you are desperate to freshen up your wardrobe with some Spring pieces, start with this gorgeous combination of colours I featured in last week's YouTube video.

Mix blue, yellow and a pop of hot pink to brighten the way out of lockdown - fingers crossed.

Shirts are a must have for Spring and they are perfect as transitional pieces to wear with joggers and jeans now, or more tailored trousers and skirts later. During the warmer months, wear them open with a camisole underneath and a pair of linen trousers or shorts. I've included 2 in this mini capsule, along with a pair of comfortable jeans and a fun bright skirt.

Add a cardigan for cooler days and a bright pop of colour in a soft boat neck top. Then add a couple of accessories, including a scarf that pulls the colours together and an easy small bag, for a collection of easy outfits.

Weekly Outfits - January Week 3

This week for my weekly capsule wardrobe (see last week's YouTube video) I decided to pick burgundy, grey, navy and pink. It's a colour combination I love (I also made a video about this colour mix)

Similar items where original are no longer available - Burgundy cashmere roll neck // Grey cardigan // Blue sweater // Pink sweater // Burgundy top // Blue print shirt // Print blouse // Jeans // Leggings // Blue trousers // Blue boots // Burgundy boots // Navy loafers // Scarf //

All the pieces in this mini capsule are old and some haven't been worn for a while. The print tie neck blouse for example is one I tend to dress up. So I enjoyed teaming it with some knitwear for a more relaxed look. Although most of the time I am at home wearing slippers(!) I have included footwear as one subscriber said she would like to see what I would wear with the outfits.

What To Wear This Autumn

It’s the start of a new season and it’s one of my favourites. Who doesn’t love boots and cosy knits? But what to buy when there is so much choice? What you need is s bit of insider knowledge and that’s where I can help. Each season I take all of the stress out of what to wear by finding you the colours that will suit you and interpreting the trends that are worth investing in.

This season at first glance, you might think that if you have a cool skin tone there aren't many colours for you. But actually there are not only some great colours for you, there are also some gorgeous combinations. And yes, if you have a warm skin tone there are plenty of fabulous Autumnal colours. I've been longing for my favourite Chocolate Brown to be back "in" and finally it's here as Chicory Coffee. But there is also plenty of Rust, Camel and Taupe too.

My top tip for wearing colour this season is be brave. Try out some new combinations; Forest Biome and pink (light or bright) or...
