How To Wear A Sweatshirt Over 50

If you are anything like me you haven't worn a sweatshirt since playing netball or hockey during school sports. Since then I have avoided them as ugly and unflattering! But I'm currently working on a project (which will be revealed soon) and it's made me think about what I as a woman over 50 want to wear. We've all got much more used to wearing leisurewear over the past two years and I am sure like many of you I've grown to love comfort dressing, albeit my joggers are cashmere and I still haven't worn a sweatshirt :)

I've never been one to be happy in a simple jeans and t-shirt outfit - I've always felt like I needed to add something, so a simple jeans or joggers and sweatshirt outfit just wouldn't float my boat. So it got me thinking about how I could happily wear one in a more stylish way and I've come up with three options for a printed sweatshirt, which I think gives it a little more style. Plus I've opted for one that has a looser cuff at the bottom so it doesn't puff up...

The Versatile Summer Dress & How To Wear It

A T-shirt (or jersey) dress is a great addition to your wardrobe. It is so easy to wear - and usually to care for too. On cooler days layer a denim or cargo jacket over the top and wear with loafers or trainers. For warmer days all you need is a pair of sandals or espadrilles.

Most brands add a T-shirt dress to their collection so you can find them at every price point.

Choose a style that works on your body shape. The green one above is great for those who are pear shaped or have a tummy they want to hide. Create or show off a waist with a waisted style or choose a straight shape to skim the body if you don't want waist emphasis.

A thicker cotton style works best on slim and straight shapes. A viscose jersey mix or a lighter weight or washed cotton, will create a more fluid fabric for those with curves.

They are great to pack for holidays as they won't crease too badly and...

The Easy to wear Summer Trend To Try Now

Welcome to the return of the Monday Pick me Up! A short but sweet, Monday indulgence :)

Today is all about a Summer Trend that is wearable and stylish too. It's the mixture of blue and white and reminds me of Wedgewood china.

If you don't like these prints, you could do a stripe or just mix blue pieces with white pieces.

It looks especially fresh in linen and all that's need for accessories is a touch of tan leather and a basket bag.

Will you be trying this combination?

Spring Floral Dress Outfit Ideas

The key to buying a dress - especially at the moment - is finding one that is versatile. One that can be dressed up or down and worn different ways.

As florals are big this season, this one caught my eye. What I love about it is the variety of colours in the print; there are so many that you can pull out to use for finishing the outfit. I have used the blue, pink and cream, but will also wear it with yellow.

Made from lightweight Lenzing Ecovera the dress complies with the stringent sustainability requirements laid down by the EU Ecolabel. So if sustainability is important to you, you can rest assured that both the fabric and production process meet high environmental standards.

How To Wear Print Trousers

A pair of print trousers is a great Spring/Summer wardrobe addition because they can be so versatile. Dress them up or down and use the colours in the print to create your outfits.

I've chosen a wide legged pair in a muted print and styled them for work, casually and a more dressy option. Pieces like this are a sensible buy when we want to get the best cost per wear from every item in our wardrobes.

A shirt dress is such a brilliant wardrobe staple. I have a couple and I create endless outfits with them. Wear layered under and over and even open as a longline jacket.

Spring Blouse Styled 3 Ways

Every so often a print catches my eye and I just can't resist it. It happened with this one which I thought would be a perfect addition to a Spring wardrobe. It might be a little while before we can get dressed up, but it will be gorgeous with tailored white trousers for a smarter occasion. In the meantime I have styled it casually to show you how you can wear it now.

5 Styling Tips For How To Wear Wide Leg Trousers

This post contains affiliate links.

It’s been a hot one this week and I’m not a big fan of shorts. I prefer a loose dress or a pair of wide leg trousers, full length or cropped, in a lightweight floaty fabric like a soft cotton, viscose or Lyocell. But I have lots of readers asking how to wear wide leg trousers, especially crops because they can make you look square and boxy. There are some tricks that you can use though, to create shape and balance. Here are 5 styling tips for how to wear wide leg trousers and crops to flatter any shape.

1. Create long lines with a tunic style top and a long necklace to elongate the body.
