Stay At Home To Post Lockdown Perfect Capsule Wardrobe

With the few days of warm weather and a glimmer of hope that lockdown might be easing soon, I'm thinking about what investments to add to my wardrobe to wear now and later. Pieces that can go from casual to smart, with the change of a shoe or jacket.

One thing the lockdown has taught me, which of course I did already know, is that I need much less in my wardrobe. Having gone through a Spring Clean and then a second culling, I am left with pieces I love and want to wear. And it's the pieces I have really thought about (typically because of the investment) that have stayed put.

As you know, I do plan my wardrobe carefully, but like everyone there are some spontaneous items that creep in. These are usually lower cost and often not such good quality, because I didn't have to think too hard about the price. With more of a focus on sustainability, these disposable pieces don't make me feel good. When I work out their cost per wear they end up being more costly than my...

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - Easy But Stylish Stay At Home Outfits

This post contains affiliate links - I earn a small commission should you use these links to buy any of the items.

It looks like most of us will be spending a long period of time at home this Spring. With this in mind I have put together my Spring Capsule Wardrobe predominantly from pieces I already have in my wardrobe. There are a few new additions, but in reality as I won't be going anywhere I really didn't need much. I have included accessories for when I do pop out for groceries as I still want to make some effort, if only to keep my spirits up.

For this capsule I have kept the colour scheme really simple with Navy, Cream/Ivory and Red. I am sure that you will have some similar pieces in your wardrobe and hope that you will find this useful in creating your own outfits.

I have listed either the exact pieces I have if still available, or similar alternatives if you do want to add anything to your wardrobe.

17 Items, 3 sets of accessories and well over 40 outfits...

Stop Buying In To Capsule Wardrobe Must Haves Lists!

We all have those days when we feel nothing in our wardrobe works. Or perhaps it's an invitation to an event that sends you in to panic because you don't think you have anything to wear. But if you have some failsafe items in your wardrobe that are in tune with your personal style, you will always have something to wear.

There is nothing worse than attending an event or important meeting and feeling like you aren't dressed appropriately. Equally if you rush out and buy something at short notice it's likely that it might not really be "you" and you will feel uncomfortable all day.

So what is the key to getting this right and discovering what those failsafe pieces and outfits are?

You are likely to have seen the lists of capsule wardrobe "must haves". They often include a white shirt, black trousers, blazer and Trench coat. But I am going to be a little controversial here because I don't agree with those lists :) For starters a white shirt (especially if it is a...
